Marriage & Family Therapist, Registered Social Worker, Certified Hypnotherapist, Certified Imago Relationship Therapist

My mantra in life is “BELIEVE”. When you believe in yourself anything is possible and when you can imagine, dream and believe, you can achieve your goals and manifest infinite possibilities.

My life passion and purpose is to instill hope, to inspire, to empower others on their journey of health and well-being. I believe in multiple PATHWAYS to achieve mind, body and soul balance to reach our authentic selves.

I have been practicing in the mental health field since 1995 and have clinical experience working with individuals, couples and families. Additionally, I have experience leading group therapy sessions and hosting workshops in various topics from stress management to work life balance to nurturing and caring for self.

I have lived in Calgary since 1980 and enjoy Calgary’s landscape from the mountains to the city life. In my free time I hike in nature, listen to music and dance, and spend time with family and friends. I have an amazing son and together we enjoy volunteering in our community.

Yasmin’s Philosophy:

I believe therapy is a journey and that there are many PATHWAYS to reaching mind-body wellness and healing.

I work from the premise that human beings are unique energy systems. As a holistic therapist, I integrate traditional therapy; with mind-body and energy therapies, to create a blend of counselling that addresses the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of each person.

I utilize Family Systems Theory to gain an understanding of the interconnections of the family systems and independent individuals, none of whom can be understood in isolation of the system – “The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.” – Aristotle

Additionally, I assess the clients presenting issues from a trauma lens. This premise focuses on understanding not only the client’s presenting issues (e.g. stress, anxiety or relationship issues) but also the underlying causes, which often is a traumatic experience. Trauma is personal, what is traumatic to one person may not be to another. Trauma often impacts how a person perceives himself or herself in relation to others, how they think, feel and behave. It is my goal to support my clients to dissolve and integrate the trauma so they are less negatively impacted by it.
